Jessica Devaney (MA ’06), associate producer and assistant editor of the award-winning film “Budrus,” will attend a screening and answer questions on March 23 in Annenberg Forum. Devaney is communications and production manager at Just Vision, the nonprofit organization that created “Budrus.”

The film tells the story of Palestinian community organizer Ayed Morrar, a man who unites Fatah and Hamas members with Israeli supporters to save his village from destruction by a security wall under construction by Israel. The movement is ignited when Morrar’s teenage daughter launches resistance activities by women at the construction site.

While this film is about one Palestinian village, the story offers a broader vision about what is possible in the Middle East through the efforts of an unlikely group of activists.
