Matthew Johnson is the digital content editor of Wake Forest Magazine. Prior to joining the team in 2026, he served in communication roles at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and at Greensboro College. He is a former sports journalist and editor who wrote for The Daily Star (Oneonta, NY) and USA Today College. He earned his BA and MA in English from UNC-Greensboro and is the author of four poetry collections.
